Effective date: [set on publish] · Applies to: the "Atome AI" Chrome extension · Publisher: Atome Software, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France · Contact: legal@atome.sh
This policy explains what the extension reads, when, where it goes and how long it is kept. It complements Atome's main privacy policy (https://atome.sh/privacy), which covers your Atome account and workspace.
The extension saves what you find on the web into your organization's Atome workspace:
| What | When it is read | Sent to |
|---|---|---|
| The page you are on: its address, title, visible text, the text you selected, and links to its pictures | When you send a message or click an action in the side panel, with "Include this page" ticked | Your Atome workspace |
| Up to 3 pictures from that page | Same moment, so the assistant can see them or save one on a record (for example a person's photo) | Copied into your workspace's storage |
| A LinkedIn profile (name, headline, company, profile address, photo) | When you click to capture it | Your Atome workspace |
| A LinkedIn or WhatsApp Web conversation: the participants and the messages visible on screen | When you click to import it | Your Atome workspace |
| Your message to the assistant and its answers | When you send it | Your Atome workspace |
The extension never reads a page's cookies, passwords, form fields, browser storage or hidden code;
it reads what you can see. It does not read pages in the background, does not read your browsing
history, and cannot read browser pages (chrome://) or the Chrome Web Store.
One action on WhatsApp Web. WhatsApp no longer shows a contact's phone number in the conversation itself. When you press Import on a WhatsApp conversation and no number is visible, the extension opens WhatsApp's own contact-info panel, reads the number, and closes it again. It does this only on your Import click. It never calls LinkedIn's or WhatsApp's own APIs and never reads WhatsApp's encryption keys or session.
Only to provide what you asked for: the note, contact, company, task or conversation you saved, and the assistant's answer to your question. What you save is stored in your workspace like any other Atome record and follows your organization's access rules: the people who can see a contact in Atome can see what you saved on it.
The assistant. To answer, Atome's assistant processes your message, the page and the relevant records of your workspace with an AI model. The model providers Atome uses act as our subprocessors, under contract, and do not use this content to train their models.
A page cannot take over the assistant. Web pages can hide text written to trick an AI assistant. The extension treats every page as untrusted content: once a page is part of a conversation, the assistant cannot search the web, open other websites or send anything outside Atome, and it can only save pictures that were copied into Atome's own storage. Sending an email or a message on your behalf always waits for your approval.
The extension keeps a small amount of data in Chrome's local extension storage:
All of it is deleted when you sign out of Atome or switch workspace, and when you remove the extension.
What you saved in Atome is kept as long as your organization keeps the record, under its own retention settings. Deleting the note, contact, company, task, conversation or assistant conversation in Atome deletes what the extension sent. For your rights over your personal data (access, correction, deletion), see Atome's main privacy policy or write to legal@atome.sh.
An administrator of your Atome workspace can turn the extension off for the whole organization. When it is off, the extension can no longer send anything to that workspace.
All traffic between the extension and Atome is encrypted (HTTPS). The extension sends data only to
Atome's servers (api.atome.sh). To copy a page's pictures, it downloads them from the site you are
on, over HTTPS.
If what the extension reads, or why, changes, we update this policy and the Chrome Web Store listing before the change ships.
